Privacy policy
Last updated: April 2026.
babesintown is operated from the Netherlands and we take GDPR seriously. This page summarises what data we collect and why, in plain English. If you want the formal legal version, email us and we'll send it.
Data we collect
- Visitors: IP address (to fight abuse), a first-party session cookie, and basic analytics (page views, device type). No third-party ad trackers.
- Account holders: email address, hashed password, and any display name you choose.
- Advertisers: additionally, government-ID scan, verification selfie, and work-permit documents. These are encrypted at rest and never visible to other users.
Why we collect it
- To verify age and identity (legal requirement).
- To protect advertisers and clients against fraud.
- To debug the site and measure what's working.
- To send you the emails you explicitly subscribed to.
What we do not do
- We do not sell data. Ever. Not to anyone.
- We do not embed advertising trackers on profile pages.
- We do not log individual phone-click events against your account or IP.
- We do not share your verification documents with third parties, except where required by Dutch law.
Cookies
We use a first-party session cookie to keep you logged in and a preference cookie for language. We use privacy-respecting analytics (aggregate, no cross-site tracking). You can refuse all non-essential cookies in the banner that appears on first visit.
Your rights
Under GDPR you may request a copy of all data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely. Email the request from your registered address and we'll respond within 30 days.
Retention
Account data stays for as long as you have an account, then is deleted within 30 days of closure. Verification documents are retained for 7 years after account closure because Dutch law requires it.
Contact
Privacy questions: write to us from the contact page. If you aren't satisfied, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
